We recently held the McKenzie & Willis Interior Design Conference over two days at our flagship Christchurch store. This is an annual event that brings together all of the incredibly talented and hugely creative team of Interior Designers across our 5 branches.
The conference covers everything from the exciting stuff like new products, promotions and trends to the less exciting stuff like administration!
Two highlights for the team during the conference was their trip to the Mainland Design Centre and the David Shaw Showroom. Our Dunedin Branch Manager Kathleen took a few snaps along the way and filled us in on what they saw…
Mainland Design Centre
‘The Mainland Design Centre is a very special place, it is like a haven of design where some of the best furnishing products the world has to offer are on display. It was created by a group of like-minded businesses who have created a design centre and trade resource to help better their own offering but where all are welcome and encouraged to be inspired!’
‘David Shaw has been designing and manufacturing exclusive quality furniture for over 30 years with the simple philosophy- great designs are to last the test of time with quality that stands amongst the best in the world. And they do! We had a tour of their operation in Christchurch and learned more about the David Shaw Passport to Quality. The Passport to Quality sees the entire David Shaw team work as one with each employee being given ownership of their particular area and every person involved signing off the final piece. So you are not only purchasing a piece of furniture that looks fantastic on the outside, you are purchasing a piece of furniture that is constructed to be fantastic on the inside too!’
